Dunn’s Castle
Piketberg is approximately an hour’s drive from Cape Town and half an hour’s drive from the West Coast.
It stands alone in the middle of the pristine wheat fields, green vines and yellow canola. Built in the late 1890s for George Dunn and designed by Sir Herbert Baker, Dunn’s Castle offers comfortable rooms with Victorian finishes. There are 5 double rooms in the Castle with country decor, a fireplace and bath, all with double beds. At the moment we can accommodate 60 guests who book for B&B, B&B and dinner, or for self-catering. Guests can also dine at the restaurant and bar on our premises.
Accommodation is also available in 3 Victorian self-catering cottages with secure parking and sleeping accommodation for 2 to 3 guests. Our new self-catering units have kitchenettes and each sleeps 2 guests. The Castle offers a peaceful haven away from the busy lifestyle we all experience. Enjoy a refreshing drink on the patio while you admire the wonderful view over the entire Swartland.
We also have 2 conference rooms with an audio-visual room for business people. Furthermore, we are ideally located for the flower season. 2 of our suites are exclusive and ideal for special events.
